Suffolk
As the name itself suggests, this was a exquisite country side in England which was one of my locations of interest in the English landscape painting. Interestingly this happens to be my very first painting that I experimented with new techniques and styles involving vegetation. This painting was redone a few times because of the experimentation with acrylics and oil over one another. But I really felt it had come out well and my wife wanted this painting for herself so it is still a part of our bedroom.
This was my first experience also with using acrylics and the blocking in technique where I painted acrylic over the empty pencil sketch to get the basic colours and later on proceed with the finer details using oil though I was still using linseed oil at this stage also so the natural drying time of the oil pigments was a lot longer.
I could not entirely catch the clouds in reflection on the water but I managed to my best as there were too much of blue shades involved and I particularly enjoyed painting the various shades of the grass in the distance. Painted on Stretched canvas, this painting is titled “SUFFOLK” and took me 30 days to paint and complete.
