Country side Cottages
I loved these cottages and barns on either sides with the river flowing in between. The roads on both sides and the river in between made the scene look so peaceful. I added the broken fences on the banks on the right as well as the grass on the banks on the left with the blue flowers. The scene was painted an odd sized canvas of 22.5 x 18 inches in size in September 2019. Though the clouds were much darker in the original picture I had to lighten it since the clouds occupied one thirds of the pics and I wanted the scene to b much brighter with less focus on the clouds.
This was also the last painting which I studied from a reference material from a magazine after which I started using reference material to study the painting directly from my laptop screen which was more convenient as I could zoom in and out at the reference photograph to view the detailing.
Colors were more enhanced in the original photograph while I reduced the colour shades in the actual painting to provide a dull English appearance to the canvas. This painting was started in July and completed in September2019. I titled it as the “COUNTRY SIDE COTTAGES” painted with oil on canvas and bought by my cousin in October 2019.
